Origin: USA (south Texas), Mexico (Tamaulipas)

Growth Habits: Basally branching, sprawling pale green stems, up to 10 inches long (25 cm), 0.8 to 1.2 inches thick (2-3 cm); 7 to 9 notched ribs; 1 bright yellow central spine, 0.8 inch long (2 cm); 7 radials, 0.4 inch long (1 cm).

Propagation: Cuttings or seeds

Yellow flower with red center, stigma with 9 lobes.
